What is the difference between a guitar and a ukulele?
Size: The first noticeable difference is that a ukulele is generally 2 to 3 times smaller than a guitar, which affects the soundbox and, therefore, the sound produced. The guitar’s longer neck also allows for more frets.
Strings: A guitar typically has 6 strings, either nylon or steel, and is tuned E-A-D-G-B-E, offering a broader variety of notes and chords. The ukulele, on the other hand, usually has 4 nylon strings, tuned G-C-E-A, which produces brighter, lighter sounds.
Tuning: Guitars are generally tuned in standard E-A-D-G-B-E, while ukuleles are tuned G-C-E-A, though different tunings are possible based on the musician’s playing style and preferences.
Sound: Due to their size and number of strings, guitars and ukuleles produce different sounds. Guitars tend to have a richer and deeper sound, whereas the ukulele has a lighter, brighter tone.
How many types of guitars are there?

Bass guitar: This unique guitar has only 4 strings and a lower pitch, making it ideal for accompanying rock, funk, or jazz bands.
Are there different types of ukuleles?
Soprano ukulele: Also called the standard ukulele, this is the smallest and most traditional type with the highest pitch, tuned G-C-E-A.
Concert ukulele: Slightly larger with a slightly lower pitch than the soprano. Its size is perfect for learning the ukulele.
Tenor ukulele: Even larger and deeper, this ukulele can also be tuned D-G-B-E (similar to the guitar’s first four strings).
Baritone ukulele: The largest and deepest of the ukuleles, it resembles a small guitar and can be up to 30 cm long. It is exclusively tuned D-G-B-E.
